Wangerooge
The wind whistles over the dunes of Wangerooge. Seagulls circle above the beach while the waves of the North Sea incessantly crash against the sand. For most visitors, it is an ordinary day on the island. But deep beneath the dunes lies a secret that has remained unsolved for over a hundred years.
In 1906, the last lighthouse keeper, Heinrich Petersen, vanished under mysterious circumstances. All that remained was his old logbook, the last page of which was incomplete. It read:
"Whoever wishes to find the key to the island must follow the signs of the wind. The greatest treasure of Wangerooge is not gold, but the knowledge of its past. Only those who demonstrate courage, intellect, and teamwork will preserve the legacy."
For a long time, the story was considered legend.
But just a few days ago, an island archaeologist discovered a rusty metal cassette in the foundation of an old building. Inside were several puzzling clues, an old compass, and a map of Wangerooge. Soon after, the archaeologist disappeared without a trace.
His last message read:
"I am close to the solution. If I do not return, you must complete my work. The island will show you the way."
Now your mission begins.
Follow the traces of the lighthouse keeper across Wangerooge. Each location tells a part of the story. Old buildings, historic monuments, the lighthouse, the national park house, the train station, and the dunes hide clues that can only be deciphered together.
Along the way, expect secret messages, tricky puzzles, hidden numbers, ancient symbols, and encrypted messages. Some solutions lie directly before your eyes—others reveal themselves only when you observe carefully and work together as a team.
But time works against you.
With each passing hour, the tide rises. Once the sea reaches its highest point, the legacy will be lost forever.
Only by correctly combining all clues can you unlock the final chest, and the secret of the vanished lighthouse keeper will be unveiled.
Are you ready?
Then begin your adventure on Wangerooge now.
The legacy of the lighthouse keeper awaits you.
