Pirates, rebels, and shipwrecked sailors joined forces to fight against
the powerful Hanseatic merchants and noble oppressors.

Their leader was none other than Captain Claas Störtebecker, the most notorious pirate from East Frisia. Their motto: justice, freedom, and equal share of the loot for all. Their headquarters? – Rumor has it, somewhere in East Frisia between Leer, Aurich, Emden, and the East Frisian Islands. Their treasure? Gold? No! But an old recipe for the Pirate’s Drink—which all pirates loved. In 2025, construction workers found a sealed copper cylinder containing a fragment of an old map while working at the old harbor in Aurich. Is this a clue to where the recipe for the Pirate’s Drink is hidden? Shortly thereafter, Prof. Eike Otten, who had been investigating the lead, vanishes without a trace. In his final message, he writes: “The age of the Likedeeler is not over. Their covenant lives on—and it tests who is worthy.”
