The Emden City Rally takes participants to the city’s most important landmarks, including the impressive Emden Harbor, the historic St. John’s Church, the water tower, and the Otto-Huus, which is dedicated to the famous Emden comedian Otto Waalkes. But it’s not just about the sights—at each stop, exciting puzzles, tricky challenges, and hidden clues await, all waiting to be solved.

Each team receives a rally booklet that guides them through the various stations and reveals a little more about Emden’s history with each task they complete. Creativity, knowledge, and teamwork are required to solve the puzzles and reach the next stage.
The city rally is suitable for all age groups and guarantees fun and entertainment for the whole family. Whether as a school class, a family outing, with friends, or as a team event—the rally is a perfect opportunity to discover Emden while working together as a group. Especially for tourists, the city rally is a unique opportunity to experience the charming city with its historical roots and maritime flair from a new perspective.
Special stops and challenges
A highlight of the city rally is the Port of Emden, which is not only known for its importance as a seaport but also serves as the backdrop for historical puzzles. Here, participants must decipher maritime secrets while learning about the port’s history and its significance for Emden.
Another exciting stop is the Otto-Huus, where participants discover the story of Otto Waalkes and his connection to the city in a humorous way. The rally also takes participants to the city’s many beautiful historic buildings and offers interesting insights into Emden’s architecture and cultural development.
